TEXAS - Yesterday the Texas House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a bill to honor Jorge Boosh. http://www.house.state.tx.us/news/release.php?id=1219
This bill will require that "Welcome To Texas" signs along Texas highways be modified to include "Proud to be the home of President George W. Bush," by 2006. I wonder how many millions of dollars that will cost the Texas taxpayers. It would seem to me that that money would be better spent on, oh, I don't know.. How about maybe the Texas education system, which is COLLAPSING financially under the burden of the very illegal immigration that Jorge Boosh insists on ramming down Texas' throats! Where does the insanity end?
I loved this line: " Although the Legislature has been working diligently to address the major issues in Texas, such as school finance reform and Worker's Compensation, I am glad that we took a brief pause to commemorate and honor our President," Paxton said.
Let me make sure I have this right. They took a brief pause from their hard work of addressing school finance reform, to commemorate the person who caused them to have to do all that work in the first place, by SWAMPING the school system with the children of illegal aliens! How absurd is that? That would be about like someone vandalizing my house, then in the middle of repairing the damage, I take a break long enough to commemorate the vandal. Only in Texas..
This morning I called my state representative and senator, and expressed my displeasure at this seemingly insignificant bill. I urge all Texans, especially Republicans, to contact your state senators and tell them not to support this bill, due to Bush's criminal stance on border insecurity. It is true that this bill is tactically meaningless, but it has the potential to be a strategic bombshell, for those of us who want our borders secured. Do you know what kind of shock waves would go through Washington if Texas Republicans were to try to derail a bill meant to honor a Texas Republican president? Does anybody grasp the power of the message that would send? You can go here to find the contact info on your Texas senators:

For any Texan who wants secure borders, and is frustrated because you don't know what you can do, this is a chance for you to strike a HUGE blow.. Even if we don't stop the bill, just the resistance will send shock waves.
